Fall Neon ft. A Beautiful Life

Sweater: J.Crew (similar)
Jacket: J.Crew (similar)
Jeans: Old Navy
Scarf: Lulu's
Shoes: Nine West via eBay (exact on 6pm.com)

Today, I am teaming up with Kahana of A Beautiful Life to show you that neons CAN transition beautifully into fall! If you don't know Kahana yet, I encourage you to stop reading right here and head on over to her blog right now - but be sure to come back!! She is a huge source of fashion inspiration for me. She has such a gift when it comes to mixing prints and textures, and always looks incredibly classy & modest without compromising her personal style. Take the time to check out her blog and her style...I'm sure you will add her to your list of blogs to read if you haven't already!

Anyone who has taken a peak into my wardrobe knows that I am not afraid of color, even in the winter months! I feel that color has healing powers, and my love of color and print is usually a conversation starter for patients.  This sweater was a clearance rack find from the summer, and these shoes were an incredible eBay find. The camera doesn't even really capture their true color - they are NEON yellow, believe me! The field jacket from J.Crew is a classic that I added to my wardrobe a few years ago. The price-per-wear on this piece has to be pennies by now! It is so versatile, and layers over everything from tees or button downs to dresses and sweaters. Add this fabulous confetti scarf from Lulu's (psst! it's THIRTEEN dollars!), and the look is fall-ready.

Do you wear your bright and colorful pieces into the fall and winter months? Be sure to show Kahana some love today and check out how she extends the wearability of her neon pieces, and follow her on Bloglovin'! Thanks for reading, and Happy Humpday!

Blog Swap: Karissa & Company

Hi Friends! I'm Karissa, from Karissa & Company.  I'm so exited to share a little bit of my personal style with you today.
I like nice things, but I can't afford nice things. It's a real dilemma. I do a LOT of consignment shopping and hit some big one day sales in order to put looks together for less. If you look hard enough, you can't get amazing brand names for a quarter of the price of retail.  I've scored some beautiful J. Crew, Banana Republic, and BCBG items for practically nothing!
Some of my favorite places to shop are Forever21, Macy's, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx.  I would describe my style as feminine and chic.  I usually prefer clean, simple, girly looks.
A lot of my outfits are also work appropriate.  I work for a Fortune 500 company so I focus on looking cute and fashion forward, but still appropriate for the work setting.  It can be a challenge to switch up your work outfits, and not wear the same cardigan and black pants everyday- but I'm trying to make it happen one outfit at a time.
I would love for you to stop by Karissa & Company and say hi! Right now, I'm hosting a giveaway for two darling bracelet sets on my Instagram (@karissaandco) so make sure you come and enter!

Can't wait to be your new blog bff!

Thanks, Karissa! Have a fabulous Thursday, fashionistas!

After 9 years of having the same number, I had to get a new number when I
switched cell phone carriers this week. It was bittersweet but this
Kate Spade cover helped ease the sting!! ;)

Happy Monday, fashionistas! Phew! What a week it was! I was dogsitting all week (hence the change in outfit layouts...and photo bombs by cute little Lexy!), had a crazy weekend of babysitting and family gatherings, and then started my pediatric rotation today in a town 75 minutes from home! Today was super long but very rewarding. My preceptor and I saw 33 patients ranging in age from 21 days to 18 years. During the course of the day, I got to hold lots of teeny babies, see 3 children with rare congenital conditions, and soothed an anxious little girl (who was about to get three shots) with my Steelers badge reel! I think this rotation will be exhausting but so fun! And please pray for my immune system to hold up against all of the germs that I will inevitably encounter! :)
More later, my loves! Have a great evening, and thanks for reading along!

Scrubscriptions

Today, I want to introduce you to a GENIUS concept: Scrubscriptions!! As anyone who is a Physician Assistant, physician, nurse, or medical professional can attest: our jobs, while rewarding, can be stressful and chaotic at times. This company has come up with a way to treat those of us in the health care professions to a monthly pamper session! Each month, Scrubscriptions sends you a box with fresh scrubs (you specify the size and color), an uplifting note, and several "pampering essentials". You can choose between "Relax and Unwind", which includes 2 essentials, and "Pamper", which includes 4 essentials. These essentials can be anything from funky socks, hairties, lotion, santizer or pumice stones.

I received the Earth Therapeutics Peace Potion and Bath & Body Works PocketBac Hand Sanitizer in Carribean Escape, along with a new set of seafoam green scrubs! This lotion is THE BOMB DOT COM!! Seriously...it smells amazing, and it now offers a moment of relaxation and balance among a day of abrasive hand-washing, glove-wearing, and paper cuts. I keep it in my bag and find myself reaching for it often. Tiny hand sanitizers are always within arm's reach, and this scent from Bath & Body Works is amazing!

This concept is totally brilliant, in my opinion! Check out the Scrubscriptions site and keep them in mind for all of the health care professionals in your life! Christmas is just around the corner ;) Thank you to the Scrubscriptions team for sending me this box of goodies!

Dress: J.Crew Factory | Cardigan: J.Crew Factory | Scarf: Target | Shoes: Gap | Tumbler: Sassy Steals

My heart is full as I write this post! I am so happy that I was reunited with my main squeeze, Adam, after two weeks of being apart. Between school, my trip home, and his job taking him out of town, it was a long 12 days! We had an action packed weekend too! Saturday had us bouncing between the horse track for some tailgating and races, and the banquet later that evening. How handsome is he?! In all the time we have been dating, I have never seen him in a suit. I would like to dedicate my first ever "Man Crush Monday", to my own studly man! ;)

On Sunday, we went golfing. And by "we", I mean Adam golfed and I rode along and handed him his putter or pulled the flags. The weather was gorgeous, the quiet time was much needed, and he even wore black and yellow for STEELER SUNDAY!! Be still my heart. He is a man of few words, which is fine because his actions speak louder anyways. I so appreciate his unwaivering love and support as I navigate the ups-and-downs of clinical year. I probably use up his patience on a daily basis with my stress-ball energy, tears, and unnecessarily graphic stories of patient encounters. Adam, if you're reading this, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for choosing to be on this journey with me. I love you!

How do you cut out time for your significant other in the midst of a busy schedule?

Today, I am collaborating with the adorable Meg of Everyday Meg. She is a teacher by day and a fabulous blogger by night! Her blog includes three major categories: SNAP (her photography business), SPARKLE (her classic, but fresh fashion perspective), and SAVOR (recipes, quotes and scripture to spice up your life!). If you have not already met her, be sure to stop by her blog and see what she's all about! You won't regret it :)

We became friends via IG and noticed that we both own (and LOVE!!) this J.Crew Factory striped dress. This dress is a classic...I love the shape, the bold stripes, and the fact that it's machine washable. I will be the first to admit that some patient interactions can be gross, and because of that, I appreciate clothes that do not require extensive maintenance! Because I am a big believer in print mixing, I layered my leopard shirt underneath, piled on the pearls, and tucked my tootsies into my favorite pair of boots.

Also, do not be afraid to pair black and brown! The tiny bit of brown in the shirt opens the door for more brown tones in the boots and accessories. Do you pair these two neutrals together? What is your favorite way to layer?

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check out Everyday Meg, and to follow WCW via Bloglovin'!

My beautiful "baby" sister, Nattie! Congrats!!
This week was kind of a blur between 11+ hour work days and planning a last minute trip home! My little sister, Natalie, was Confirmed this weekend and I was honored to be her sponsor. I am so grateful not only to have been a part of her special day, but also to my preceptor who gave me Friday off so that I could have an extra day at home! It was a whirlwind but amazing weekend...look for a more extensive post later this week. There will be something for everyone: puppies, babies and chocolate :) !!

I hope you all had a great week and weekend! A trip home to see my family has me rebalanced and energized...what is keeping you going this week? Thanks for reading, and please follow along via Bloglovin'!

PS: Thanks, Kait, for Nattie's dress! She loved all of her goodies and looked beautiful and classy on her special day!

Classic Camel ft. Bluetique

Blazer: eBay
Tights: Target
Booties: Kelly & Katie via DSW (similar)
Necklace: Eienblue via Etsy
Bracelets: Bijoux Boutique
Nails: OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

I wholeheartedly believe that Jackie O. would approve of this outfit! This elegant, timeless dress from Bluetique is called the "Touch of Class" dress and that description could not be more accurate! The classic scoop, the A-line swing skirt, the camel color, the dramatic bow...I could go on and on. This dress will be sure to get a lot of wear at work and play this fall! The material is super soft and modest enough that I could wear it alone under my white coat. Be sure to check out their online boutique for more amazing, versatile pieces!

And as much as I love bright colors and warm weather, I am SO excited to debut these amazing booties! I have been searching for some black suede, low cut booties for YEARS now. These babies popped out at me on a random trip to DSW back in the spring. They were marked way down, and were an additional 40% off, plus I had a rewards coupon, so they ended up coming home with me for a whopping $7.37 after tax. SEVEN DOLLARS AND CHANGE. Shopping win for sure!

Have a fantastic Friday, fashionistas! Thanks for reading!!
