"Navy" Friday

Photo Credit | Whitley of Simply Whit in a Sequined Life

Dress: Boden (love this) | Cardigan: J.Crew Factory | Scarf: c/o Nepali by TDM Designs
Boots: ALDO (similar) | Tights: J.Crew Factory | Bracelets: Sage K & Co., J.Crew Factory (similar), c/o ShopLately
Lips: Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones! To those of you who are braving the crowds today to snag some great deals, kudos to you! Crowds and pushing and all of that keep me far away from Black Friday sales. I prefer the calm, comforting process of online shopping delivered straight to my door :).

While I am not observing "Black" Friday, I wanted to showcase one of my other favorite darker hues, Navy! Pattern mixing is one of my favorite ways to spice up an outfit, and this Nepali by TDM Designs scarf ties in quite nicely (no pun intended) with the subtle herringbone in my dress and polka dots in the tights. I am loving these Nepali scarves...they are light-weight, but large enough to tie in a variety of ways, and add just enough warmth at the same time! Be sure to check out their other beautiful styles HERE.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

Comfort Upgrade: Dansko's Santa Fe Collection

Photo Credit | Whitley of Simply Whit in a Sequined Life

Scrubs: Cherokee | Sweatshirt: Victoria's Secret PINK (similar) | Tee: Old Navy
Headband: Shabby Rose Trims | Shoes: c/o Dansko

Dansko has done it again!! Allow me to introduce you to the newest line in the Dansko family, The Santa Fe Collection. The Shayla style is an expansion of their active collection, and has the same comfort & arch support that I have come to love and appreciate about their shoes, but with a sportier profile and lighter design. The Shayla allowed me to be on my feet all day in OB/GYN without the lower back pain, leg cramps and fatigue that I would probably experience if I were wearing any other pair of athletic shoes.

For those of you in the emergency room, operating room, or any specialty that is especially "messy", the "Stay Dry, Stay Clean, Stay Comfortable" features of this shoe will carry you through even the longest, messiest shifts:

STAY DRY: Dri-Lex (R) Eco-linings for wicking and moisture management
STAY CLEAN: Scotchguard (R) for long-lasting stain resistance, Cleansport NXT (R) for organic odor control
STAY COMFORTABLE: slip resistant, incredible arch support, superior energy return and shock absorption

I am a believer - YET AGAIN - in the magical powers that these shoes possess! Dansko was kind enough to also give a comfort upgrade to my classmate, Ashley, so stay tuned for her comments as well! Be sure to check out the bright and fun color options, and remember: this is a great gift idea for the active women in your life! :)

Thanks for reading, and have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, fashionistas!!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dansko.

Take Jess of JJ Walters Design, for example: she is currently a student, fashion blogger, AND Etsy shop owner! If you haven't checked out her blog and / or Etsy store yet, please do! This girl is massively talented...

Jess makes everything in her shop by hand, which I think makes it all the more fun to style, knowing that it was created with so much love! This plaid flannel infinity scarf will be making lots of appearances in the coming months since it is both adorable AND super warm! Necklace: Etsy | Bracelets (L to R): J.Crew Factory (similar), c/o Hearts, Sage K & Co., c/o Shop Lately
Earrings: Kate Spade | Sunnies: Boden

Hello, friends! And Happy Monday! I completed my first week of OB/GYN and am enjoying having Mondays off to run errands, study and of course, set aside some blog time! It is pretty clear to me that this specialty is not where I want to end up, but I am learning a LOT, and it is so special to see parents see their babies on the ultrasound, or hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. I am working in a large practice with all-female staff, which is really fun...and entertaining to say the least!. This week will be a short one due to the holiday. Adam and I are heading up to be with my family for the weekend and I am super excited!

Since Mondays have been productive and busy days for me lately, I am reaching for comfortable pieces that layer easily as the temperatures continue to fall. This vest is a staple in my fall wardrobe, and has been a must-have among the fashionistas. I found a dupe in a complete twist of fate: as I was walking around the mall the other day, I saw it in the Coldwater Creek window display! It is $89.95 with an additional 40% off!! RUN, DON'T WALK!!

On another note, I recently picked up these jeans for about $15 at American Eagle. I have been looking for the perfectly faded, deconstructed pair for a while and I am so excited that these are long enough!! Pairing them with polka dots, leopard flats, and a fresh and feminine arm party makes my errand attire complete!

What is your go to outfit for your day(s) off? Thanks for reading, and please follow along on Bloglovin' for more fun!

Happy Hump Day! A few weeks ago, I introduced you to the University Girls Apparel brand! If you missed the post, click HERE. You all have probably figured out by now that I'm a huge sports fanatic, and love to show my team spirit. UGApparel has adorable, fashion-forward options for the female sports fan! Today, I am styling two cute and cozy pieces from their University of Kentucky line!

I cannot even begin to express to you how well-made and luxurious these fabrics feel!! The buffalo check shirt is made of heavy-weight flannel, and has subtle details like the patch pocket on the front, as well as an embroidered logo. This piece will be in heavy rotation for the current basketball season, so I hope you all love it as much as I do!

The second piece has been worn more than anything else in my closet over the last two weeks! It is so soft, hugs in all of the right places, and has SUPER long sleeves - a plus for my large wing span :). I'm always a sucker for stripes, and the Wildcat Blue & White combination is really eye-catching! Be sure to head over to the UGApparel site and check out the other available schools and styles!! Thank you to the UGApparel team for sharing these sassy, sporty styles with me!

Tulle Skirt: Two Ways

 photo photo3_zps9c5550dd.jpg
Skirt: c/o Sincerely Jenna Marie
Shirt: J.Crew
Cardigan, Tights, Shoes: J.Crew Factory
Necklace: eBay
Watch: Fossil
Coat: LOFT

Hey there, fashionistas! I'm happy to be back to blogging today and to be collaborating with the sweet Jenna of Sincerely Jenna Marie! Jenna had a giveaway a while back for a collection of fabulous things, the most exciting of which (in my opinion) was this tulle skirt! I had seen Jenna style her own skirt a couple of ways, and I was so excited to learn that I was the lucky winner.

Today, we are each styling our tulle skirts. It is probably (ok, definitely) impractical to wear a tulle skirt to work in my profession, but how fun is this look for the holidays?! The feminine sparkly details span from head to toe with this outfit: my favorite sparkly necklace, the fluffy tulle skirt, and tights with a subtle sparkle. As fun and feminine as this skirt is, the outfit would instantly - and easily! - become more "office appropriate" if I swapped out the tulle for a pencil skirt, which is exactly how I will be dressed for my first day on OB/GYN today.

In addition to the tulle skirt, I had to give this striped trench its own moment as well! Thank you to my friend Rynetta for helping this beauty find its way into my closet! This timeless piece is sure to get a lot of wear!! And thank you to Whitley for helping me get these gorgeous shots...and for providing an afternoon of laughs! :) Don't forget to hop over to Jenna's blog and see how she styled her tulle! Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday, fashionistas! How was your week? We have made it to the end of Birthday Bonanza week, and I could NOT be more excited about the featured brand today!! I want to introduce you to Adelie & Co., an Etsy shop that stocks colorful bows, garlands, and glitter-clad sweatshirts (aka "festive cuteness"). The talented woman behind the shop is my college friend, Jacee, along with her sidekick/daughter/most-adorable-baby-ever, Adelie! Jacee is also one of the most gifted photographers I know, and I am so thrilled to be introducing her to all of you! Check out her shop on Facebook here and her photography page here.

See this gorgeous, glittery, MONOGRAMMED beauty that is gracing my frame? Yea, Jacee did that. And made the matching bow to boot. This just rose to the top of the list as far as favorite comfy pieces go! You can snag one for yourself in her Etsy store! This sweatshirt is so soft and comfy, and it pairs well with both skinny jeans and sweatpants (if I'm being honest ;) ). I have pretty much worn it every night since I got it! Thank you, Jacee!!

And at the risk of upstaging myself, I want to introduce you to Adelie Jo Harper:

I know, I can't handle the cuteness either!! As if you needed any more reasons to fall in love with Jacee, Adelie, and their brand...Jacee wants to give one of my readers a $25 credit to her Etsy store, Adelie & Co.! Giveaway runs until Thursday, November 14 at 11:59pm EST, and is open to all readers - even international! Birthday Bonanza: Bluetique GIVEAWAY [CLOSED]

First of all, THANK YOU all for making my birthday such a special day! Thank you for your calls, texts, emails and comments...I appreciate each and every one of you. The fun doesn't stop there though - we have two more days of fabulous giveaways!
Thanks to Sheridan for sharing Roxy Girl with me for some photos and frolicking!
Top: Target
Shoes: Ellen Tracy via Burlington
Necklace: c/o Glint & Gleam (other color option)
Bracelets: Sage K & Co. and my grandmother's
Clutch: c/o Bluetique
Nails: Smokin' Hot by Essie

When I first stepped out in this outfit, Adam asked me if I was going to a funeral. Fashion fail. I quickly taught him that black-on-black is classic, and allows my two accessories to really pop and make a statement! (In full disclosure, by the end of the mini session, he said that I looked very pretty and "wouldn't hate it" if I wore this skirt out to date night...haha silly man!)

You should all know by now that I am a sucker for a great statement necklace, and this one from Glint & Gleam is no exception! As much as I love scarves, I find that they can be hard to wear with my white coat, stethoscope, name badge, etc. Statement necklaces tend to be much less bulky, and don't hold onto germs like fabric scarves do!

The other head-turning piece to this ensemble is the monogram clutch from Bluetique. I's pink and it's monogrammed. GET IN MY CLOSET!! I love that it has a chain to wear as a crossbody, or you can carry it as a clutch. And even better news: one of you will win one! The Bluetique girls will give you your choice of thread color to make it even more personal. The giveaway will run through Wednesday, November 13 at 11:59pm EST, and is open to residents of the US and Canada. Thanks for reading, and good luck!!
