Star Spangled Outfits: The Office

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday!  I love the patriotic colors, BBQs, family time, summer weather, and fireworks that come with it.  Truth be told, I was a chemistry major in college and have always loved pyrotechnics (aka fireworks).  All in all, it's just a great time of year in my opinion!

On that note, one patriotic outfit would just not be enough!  I have put together three star-spangled looks: one for the office, one for a backyard BBQ, and one for something in between. Today I will be posting my most conservative look!

Cardigan: Tablots | Tank: Old Navy | Skirt: LOFT Outlet | Necklace: eBay | Shoes: Forever 21

I am just beginning to venture into the clinical world, and I plan to tread lightly at first.  Different medical settings call for different dress codes, and I plan on covering all my bases by starting on the conservative end! For example, the hospital usually requires wearing stockings/hose and more neutral colors (this will be particularly difficult for me!). Clinical settings allow for more "wardrobe wiggle room", but are still within the professional realm.

This outfit is what I like to call "Patriotically Professional" :) I love the mix of polka dots and stripes, the common thread of gold details on the cardigan, necklace and toes of the flats, and the fact that my personal style is still expressed!

What is the dress code for your profession?

  1. Finding cute and comfy closed toe shoes is always my biggest fashion struggle in the clinical workplace. I'm going to start watching your feet for some inspiration!
