I hope you all have a beautiful and relaxing Christmas! I spent mine in Pittsburgh with my dad's side of the family. Last week I told you about my Flourish Boutique wish list, and that I came home with this beautiful coat! For Christmas Eve Mass and festivities, I paired it with a gold tweed mini and black sweater to let this coat and my accessories stand out. Flourish's Holiday Gift Guide

This week, I had the pleasure of visiting one of my favorite places: Flourish Boutique! The store was sparkling from floor to ceiling with holiday cheer, and the clothing was just as dazzling! Vanessa and the Flourish girls are working hard to bring you new, festive goodies EVERY sure to follow them on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for daily arrivals, giveaways, and sales. Below are some of my favorite picks from the evening...
(L to R) Coat | Jacket | Dress
(L to R): Dress | Dress | Dress                                             Top | Top | Coat

1. This sweater was possibly the most gorgeous, cozy sweater that has ever graced my shoulders. It's like a cornucopia in sweater form! The vibrant colors and thick fabric make it the perfect winter wardrobe staple.
2. I'm a sucker for a classic dress with a little interest, and this piece packs a punch! The neutral colors would carry this piece across the seasons, and the lattice top adds interest while still being modest!
3. THIS TUNIC. Oh, this tunic. First win: it is light pink and rose gold. I'm also a sucker for a good tunic because my go-to weekend apparel consists of leggings, boots, and something that covers my bum. (Side note: LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS, ladies. Cover your bum, please!! :)) Finding shirts that are long enough for me is no easy feat, and this piece did the trick, so it had to come home with me. (Second side note: I noticed after I fell in love and took this off that it is labeled as "Sleep Wear". OH WELL! Too cute to not be seen, I say!). This piece is not yet listed online, so feel free to call the Flourish girls at (574) 277-PINK if you love it as much as I do!

It's not hard to fall in love with EVERYTHING in this store! There were so many festive, feminine pieces in the store. And the Flourish girls are very crafty in how they display things too! I love the combination of colors, textures and patterns that I was seeing. As always, it was a lovely evening of friends and retail therapy, and I was honored to be a part of it. Although it was a tough to cut any of the pieces from my pile, I ended up walking away with the Rose Gold Tunic and THIS gorgeous coat (DRUMROLL PLEASE....!!):
I KNOW. I can't even. I can't begin to even. I cannot even begin to even. A pink dress coat has been on my wish list for so long! It may have been my imagination, but I am pretty sure that there were birds singing and little cherubs playing harps when I tried this on. If you don't believe me, ask the Flourish girls. They witnessed this magical event :). THANK YOU to whoever chose this piece at market this year! Stay tuned for a feature on this beauty next week...

Be sure to check out Flourish Boutique's site for more amazing pieces. If you need something for your holiday party, family gathering, or New Year's Eve, this is the place to check first! If you're a first time customer, enter code "WEB25" for 25% off your order! Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful Friday, fashionistas!

Leather + Lace ft. Charming Lucy

Happy Hump Day!! On Monday, you saw how I styled my leather and lace on Susan's blog, Charming Lucy. Today, I am excited to host Susan and have her share her spin on the trend! Susan is a wife, mom and has one of the biggest Christian hearts that I have ever encountered. Her megawatt smile and effortless, timeless style inspire me to be a little brighter every day! Take it away, chica!

Hey friends! I am Susan of the Charming Lucy blog! Today I am sharing my version of feminine/edgy with you! Leather and lace are polar opposites in the fabric world, but they are showing up styled together everywhere this season! It took me some time to add this mix into my wardrobe, because it is just simply out of my comfort zone. I had to really stretch myself to pull this off. I purchased a lace sweater from The Loft this fall and it has been hanging in my closet, begging to be worn. I decided to step out of my box and pair it with tailored velvet pants and a brown moto jacket. I have been wanting to try the black/brown trend too. So, while I was stepping completely out of my comfort zone, I decided to try this trend at the same time. And what do you know? I actually loved it! I finished the look with black booties and a strand of pearls. For those of us who may be hesitant to try the leather and lace trend, I suggest pairing lacy elements with a tailored piece, such as a jacket or slim pants. Layering your lace is also a great way to try the ladylike trend, while still having the coverage that makes you comfortable. IMG_1434 IMG_1433 IMG_1432 I put together another outfit idea that would be perfect for your holiday parties! I would love to try leather leggings! Have you tried them? How do you pair your feminine pieces with the edgy elements in your closet? If you have a favorite outfit, please share! Thank you to Stephanie for hosting me today! I hope you all enjoy a blessed holiday season with your loved ones! Thanks for stopping by!

A Blog Sabbaticle, Leather & Lace

Hey friends! Thanks for being so patient these past few weeks...I took a little "blog sabbaticle" so that I could focus on clinicals, exams, and practice boards. I am happy to say that all of my exams were passed, that I had a fabulous OBGYN rotation, and for those of you that missed it, I am now engaged!! You will be filled in on all of the events of the past few weeks, and get to see some exciting new content in the coming days.

Today, I am teaming up with Susan of Charming Lucy to show how I style my leather and lace. You can read my full post over on her blog today! Happy Monday, Fashionistas...

And here's a little peek at the mushy love fest lately. Hehe...but I'm not apologizing! ;) And I promise you...we did NOT plan our outfits. Yet another example of why this man is my soulmate!
Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful start to your week!!

"Navy" Friday

Photo Credit | Whitley of Simply Whit in a Sequined Life

Dress: Boden (love this) | Cardigan: J.Crew Factory | Scarf: c/o Nepali by TDM Designs
Boots: ALDO (similar) | Tights: J.Crew Factory | Bracelets: Sage K & Co., J.Crew Factory (similar), c/o ShopLately
Lips: Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones! To those of you who are braving the crowds today to snag some great deals, kudos to you! Crowds and pushing and all of that keep me far away from Black Friday sales. I prefer the calm, comforting process of online shopping delivered straight to my door :).

While I am not observing "Black" Friday, I wanted to showcase one of my other favorite darker hues, Navy! Pattern mixing is one of my favorite ways to spice up an outfit, and this Nepali by TDM Designs scarf ties in quite nicely (no pun intended) with the subtle herringbone in my dress and polka dots in the tights. I am loving these Nepali scarves...they are light-weight, but large enough to tie in a variety of ways, and add just enough warmth at the same time! Be sure to check out their other beautiful styles HERE.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

Comfort Upgrade: Dansko's Santa Fe Collection

Photo Credit | Whitley of Simply Whit in a Sequined Life

Scrubs: Cherokee | Sweatshirt: Victoria's Secret PINK (similar) | Tee: Old Navy
Headband: Shabby Rose Trims | Shoes: c/o Dansko

Dansko has done it again!! Allow me to introduce you to the newest line in the Dansko family, The Santa Fe Collection. The Shayla style is an expansion of their active collection, and has the same comfort & arch support that I have come to love and appreciate about their shoes, but with a sportier profile and lighter design. The Shayla allowed me to be on my feet all day in OB/GYN without the lower back pain, leg cramps and fatigue that I would probably experience if I were wearing any other pair of athletic shoes.

For those of you in the emergency room, operating room, or any specialty that is especially "messy", the "Stay Dry, Stay Clean, Stay Comfortable" features of this shoe will carry you through even the longest, messiest shifts:

STAY DRY: Dri-Lex (R) Eco-linings for wicking and moisture management
STAY CLEAN: Scotchguard (R) for long-lasting stain resistance, Cleansport NXT (R) for organic odor control
STAY COMFORTABLE: slip resistant, incredible arch support, superior energy return and shock absorption

I am a believer - YET AGAIN - in the magical powers that these shoes possess! Dansko was kind enough to also give a comfort upgrade to my classmate, Ashley, so stay tuned for her comments as well! Be sure to check out the bright and fun color options, and remember: this is a great gift idea for the active women in your life! :)

Thanks for reading, and have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, fashionistas!!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dansko.

This girl is massively talented...

Jess makes everything in her shop by hand, which I think makes it all the more fun to style, knowing that it was created with so much love! This plaid flannel infinity scarf will be making lots of appearances in the coming months since it is both adorable AND super warm! And be sure to check out Jess's store for lots of basic bracelet options. The matte gold chunky link and stretch crystal bracelets have been staples in my recent arm parties!
